The National Association for Poetry Therapy (NAPT) invites you to submit an original workshop proposal for our 28th Annual Conference, "Reaching Out/Reaching In: Expressive Writing for Healing, Growth, and Well-being" to be held April 2-6, 2008, at the Millennium Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

We invite proposals for 60, 90 and 120 minute workshops covering any aspect of the use of poetry, literature, journaling, creative writing, storytelling, performing and expressive arts, and related fields. Panel discussions and poster sessions are also welcome. A/V equipment is available; material beyond Flip Chart & Markers will be available for a fee upon acceptance of your proposal.  CETHA has a limited number of A/V equipment and will have equipment available at a lower cost than A/V provided by the hotel, on a first come first serve basis. A/V Material provided by the hotel will be charged at their cost. Please note that presenting is on a volunteer basis only. There is no compensation whatsoever for presenting. The deadline for workshop, poster session, and panel discussion proposals is September 15, 2007.

Those who have successfully offered an NAPT conference workshop in the past are welcome to submit a proposal for pre- and post-conference workshops to be held on Thursday, April 3 and Sunday, April 6. There is a separate deadline for pre- and post-conference workshop proposals; the deadline is August 1, 2007.

How to Submit a Proposal:

Please download, complete, and email (in a single Word file) the following form and all supporting documents (250-word workshop description, a current one-page CV for each presenter, a statement from each presenter that they have neither been sanctioned nor had any adverse actions against him or her in the past five years, where relevant by license) to Richard Brown (buddhafly@art-health.com).

Please also submit a 50-word biographical statement of the presenter or presenting group for inclusion in the brochure. All attachments must be in a single Word document. It is not necessary to send a hard copy of your proposal. If you do not have an email account and prefer to send your proposal by regular mail, send 6 collated copies of all components to Administrator, Lauren Keller 777 E. Atlantic Ave., #243 Delray Beach, FL 33483. Proposals must be postmarked or emailed by September 15, 2007. Receipt of proposals will be acknowledged by email only unless an SASE is enclosed with a hard copy. Please note that we are requesting ONE contact person per proposal; co-presenters should coordinate with each other and through that contact person. Incomplete application packages and those that are emailed or postmarked after September 15, 2007, will not be considered.
