Standing Committees

Conference
The Conference Committee plans and executes NAPT's annual conference.

Diversity
NAPT has a vision in which practitioners from many different racial, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds come together to share experiences.

Education
The Education Committee is the liaison between NAPT members and friends, and educational opportunities in poetry therapy.

Ethics and By-Laws
The Ethics Committee reviews and makes determinations on reports or charges of misconduct or violations of the NAPT Code of Ethics by Certified/Registered Poetry Therapists.

Government Affairs/NCCATA
The Government Affairs Committee coordinates legislative efforts on behalf of the field of poetry therapy and acts as a liaison to the National Coalition for Creative Arts Therapies Associations (NCCATA).

Institutional Outreach
Devoted to establishing liaison relationships with Institutions (hospitals, clinics, schools, etc.) represented by our individual membership and other local and national Institutions and Organizations outside of NAPT.

Membership
The Membership Committee focuses on recruitment, retention, marketing, and member services -- in support of NAPT's vision of cultivating poetry therapy throughout the world.

Praise of Muses Advisory Board
Praise of Muses is the distinguished Advisory Board serving the National Association For Poetry Therapy.

Research
The Research Committee is coordinating past research, as well as conducting current quantitative research on the healing aspects of poetry therapy.
